Snickerdoodles for the Holidays!

Just a reminder, Snickerdoodles should be on your holiday baking list. A soft sugar cookie with a cinnamon topping that is perfect for any season. These cookies remain an American classic, easy to prepare, and are simply delicious.
Snickerdoodles
Makes 24
Ingredients:
2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. or (205 degrees C)
2. Combine 1-1/2 cups white sugar, butter or margarine, vanilla and eggs. Mix well.
3. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Blend well. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Combine 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Roll dough in sugar/cinnamon mixture and place 2-inches apart on an ungreased baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until the cookie is set. Immediately remove from cookie sheets and cool.

I have never made snickerdoodles– I used to love them, but then I had a bad one and I haven't eaten one since. But everyone is posting about them, so I guess I owe them a second chance!! Recipe looks great!

I love these and make them with my student in the drop cookie portion of our cookie unit every year and they are a huge hit amongst all of them. You know you're right about Snickerdoodles being on the Holiday baking list. My father in law is a huge fan of them. A good friend of mine rolls hers in colored sugar for the holidays.
